The concept of the YADA YADA MARKET hails all the way from Cape Town South Africa, where conceptualist and owner, Paul Rutzen, established the Bay Harbour market seven years ago.

“My background in commercial property letting and development, lead to establishing Bay Harbour, following the 2008 financial crisis, which created the opportunity. I found that the small individual retailer was being sidelined, literally, unable to afford escalating retail rates in shopping centers, in a declining economic environment, the majority found themselves out on the street, with no where to go! So we created this platform, a mix between a formal retail centre and a informal street market, all under one roof. Throw in live entertainment and a bustling world of exploding senses are unleashed, a place of fantasy created.”

This world is transposed all the way to the HEMBRUGTERREIN on the NORTH SEA CANAL outside of AMSTERDAM.
A two stop train ride from Amsterdam Central Station to Zaandam Station, then a 5 minute bus ride and you arrive on a 46 hectare site, featuring FLINDERS, interior decor design company , BIJ BIND, alternative get together coffee shop, LAB44, local pub offering craft beer from the region, STREETS OF THE WORLD MUSEUM, a collection of photographs depicting street scenes from across the world, ARTZAAN, recently opened art museum, the HEMBRUG MILITARY MUSEUM and YADA YADA MARKET-life, so a collection of interesting and different events, all located in old monuments and industrial buildings – a full day and into the evening experience.
